The Studio
The Black Baccara is a composed floral studio operating out of Delhi. We make four things. We make five of them per day. We do not make exceptions, offer discounts, or take same-day orders. Every decision we have made has been in service of the work — not the volume.
"The gifting industry is built on noise. We are built on the opposite assumption."
These are not aspirations. They are the operational rules the studio runs on. They were set at the beginning and have not changed. They will not change.
Every element in a composition that remains is there because removing it would diminish the piece. We do not add to fill space. We remove until nothing can be taken away.
Speed is a commodity. A considered delay between commissioning and delivery is not a limitation — it is a statement about what the piece means. Same-day is not available because it communicates the wrong thing.
Five pieces per day is not a temporary constraint. It is a permanent decision. We will not produce more pieces to fill more orders. We will produce better pieces for fewer people.
In a category that shouts — flash sales, festival campaigns, countdown timers — we believe the most powerful thing a brand can do is remain quiet. Our Instagram does not announce. It hints.
We decline orders that would compromise the composition. We decline customisation requests that would dilute the piece's intention. This is not arrogance. It is care — for the work, and for the person receiving it.
Every piece we make is numbered and logged. It does not disappear when it is delivered. It exists in the record. Piece No. 001 is as present in the archive as the piece made today.
How a piece is made
A WhatsApp enquiry arrives. A person reads it. The occasion, the composition, the slot — confirmed in conversation. Payment secures the piece. The composition does not begin until payment lands.
The morning of dispatch, stems are selected at Ghazipur Mandi. We choose what is most alive that morning within the composition's palette. No two pieces are identical — not because of inconsistency, but because the stems are living things.
The piece is composed by hand. Dark surface, single light source. The composition follows the named piece's logic — its emotion, its weight, its intention. When it is done, it is numbered. That number is permanent.
A short video is sent via WhatsApp before the piece leaves the studio. Three angles. No music. No voiceover. The recipient sees the piece exactly as it was composed. Then it is dispatched — on time, within the chosen slot.
The Rules
The rules of The Black Baccara are as important as the compositions themselves. They are what make the work possible. They are not negotiable.
No same-day orders. The piece requires time. You will order in advance or not at all.
No discounts. Not for volume. Not for loyalty. Not during festivals. The price is the price.
No customisation. You commission a named piece. The studio composes it. The florals are chosen by us, not requested by you.
No refunds after composition begins. The piece is made for you. Once composition begins, the work is yours.
No more than five pieces per day. This is not a supply problem. It is a quality decision. It will not change.
No delivery outside South Delhi and Gurgaon. We deliver where we can deliver well. Expanding delivery means compromising it.
Four compositions. Five pieces daily. South Delhi and Gurgaon.
